Bochs and remote gdb

Hello folks,
	Has anyone succesfully used remote gdb with the Bochs x86
emulator? Bochs has a lot of great benefits for kernel testing over
VMware, including the ability to mount disks directly into the host
filesystem using loop devices (since Bochs disks are just plain image
files). However I can't seem to get serial debugging to work. I've set up
Bochs to have a serial that points to /dev/ttyq0, and I connect gdb to
/dev/ptyq0 (the same arragement that works for VMware), but no dice.
