problem about big kernel and grub

I installed oskit-0.97 in my os of redhat 7.2,my /boot partition is /dev/hda2,/ partition is /dev/hda4.  I tried some examples kernels.the small kernel can be booted with lilo,but big kernel could not.now I create a grub boot floppy,when it booted from this boot floppy, I inputed "kernel /oskit/zImage root=/dev/hda4" and "boot",it only showed "convntional memory639k   extended memory:65472k",then it died. How can I boot my big kernel from boot floppy with grub?
