Thank you for answering my question. OSkit conforms to the Multiboot Standand, so I think grub can boot the example kernel directly. I've tried the above commands, but it did not work. I also tried to boot it from hard drive, like
grub> root (hd0,5)
grub> kernel /boot/hello root=/dev/hda6
grub> boot
Unfortunately, it did not work either. By the way, can the kernel boot without root filesystem?
