BOOTP misconfigured or bug?
Hello All,
Rolling along getting OSKit to fly on a DIMMPC, I've managed to get
a version of the Crystal Semiconductor Ethernet Driver to respond to the
pingreply
kernel so long as i enter all the IP info in by hand. I'm trying to get
netboot working
now but I can't seem to get the OSKit/netboot kernel to boot from my bootp
server.
The server is a FreeBSD box running 3.0 my command line to start bootp is
/usr/libexec/bootp -d4 /etc/bootptab
and bootptab currently contains...
dimm:ht=1:ha=00E04B002CB0:gw=209.133.7.1:ip=209.133.7.25:sm=255.255.255.128:
vm=auto
here's the output I get from bootp (it obviously hears the BOOTP request
from the DIMM but the DIMM doesn't seem to like what It is getting from the
server (If it is getting anything at all). I guess I want to eliminate the
possibility that I missconfigured the bootp server before i go delving
deeper into the ethernet driver.
