EPS*Mover is a Macintosh application from Art Age Software=81, the makers of
the award-winning applications epsConverter=81 and EPStoPICT=81. EPS*Mover c=
an
read any portable EPS file (encapsulated PostScript=AE file) and convert its
preview into the proper format for the target platform you designate. For
example, you may have a CD-ROM of EPS clip art that was created for use on
PCs, but which you would like to use on a Macintosh. EPS*Mover can quickly
convert the PC EPS files into equivalent Macintosh EPS files.

EPS*Mover requires a Macintosh computer with a PowerPC processor (PowerMac,
PowerBook, iMac, etc.) running System 7.0 or later. Because EPS*Mover
contains only PowerPC native code, it will not run on older Macs using
68000 series processors.

To install EPS*Mover, simply double-click the EPS*Mover=81 Installer icon,
and follow the on-screen instructions.

Pricing and registration details can be found in the package.

Subject: [*] AppleTree1.3.3 - a statistics tool for multinomial modeling

AppleTree is an application for statistical modeling.
It allows to fit multinomial binary tree models of arbitrary size to
frequency data using the "General Processing Tree" algorithm developed by
Hu and Batchelder (1994).
AppleTree can read model files and data files written for the MS-DOS "MBT"
program developed by Xiangen Hu, University of Memphis, Tennessee.

Multinomial models can be created with a built in graphical editor.
Restrictions to the models can be added using a graphical interface.
AppleTree fits model parameters to frequency data, it provides estimates
for the free parameters together with confidence intervals, it provides
power analyses for a given model, and it allows for checking the
identifiability of a model.

AppleTree is freeware. It runs natively on both 680x0 and PowerPC Macs.

See <http://www.psychologie.uni-trier.de:8000/projects/AppleTree.html> for
latest informations.

Changes since version 1.2.1:

* Graphical model editor
* Power analysis
* Generates expected data sets for a given model
* MacOS 8.5 support (Appearance Manager, Navigation Services, proportional
scrollbars, etc.)

Requirements
* MacOS 7.5 or later
* Motorola 68020 or better (no FPU required) or any PowerPC.
  PowerPC recommended.

Garcia's Guitars 1.2.1
by Jason Rainbows' Magic Theatre
rainbow@kagi.com
http://www.mindspring.com/~jasonrainbows/

Requires: Macintosh, color monitor, love, good vibes.

This is a quick release of Garcia's Guitars, just to
update contact information contained in it and to
simply keep it in circulation.

We all miss Jerry. Sure, but we'll meet again in the
by-and-by. You bet'cha.

In the meantime, let's rejoice in the life we have
and play a game! YAY!

- Dance your chubby little Jerry character around a
stadium parking lot and hug as many guitars as you
can while avoiding the pigs. There are psychedelic
rewards and Jack o' Roses for extra Karma! Don't get
busted, and get Jerry's Karma up to Cloud Nine! Then,
keep going and try to get as high as you can! The sky's
the limit! You can do it with a little practice (and a
good sense of humor)!

Garcia's Guitars has been a "hand-me-down" game for
a couple of generations of "GRATEFULly DEADicated"
68k Mac users and we hope it still runs on those
new G-3s, but we haven't tested that yet. There
have been reports of rude errors on fast machines,
but it's been rather stable. If it gives you any
trouble, or says something rude to you, just pass
it on to a friendly Mac user with a slower machine.

Have fun with this little game, and try not to hurt
anybody with it, okay?

Subject: [*] GLMStat 4.0.0;Generalised linear models

GLMStat is a Macintosh-based statistical program for analysing generalised
linear models.
It provides a macintosh interface but otherwise operates in a similar
fashion to GLIM but with less features (most of which you probably won't
miss). Features of GLMStat are

 - spreadsheet style data entry
 - Normal, Poisson, Binomial and Gamma models with appropriate links and
specification of convergence and aliasing parameters
 - Scatter and Residual plots
 - Matrix scatterplots
 - Box and Whisker plots
 - Frequency distribution histograms
 - Descriptive statistics.
 - Output of deviance, parameter estimates, residuals and parameter
correlations
 - Saving of data files complete with all model specifications.
 - printing of data, graph and results.
 - Online Help (under the apple menu) and a brief User Manual.
 - includes example data files for most examples in two of the texts.
 - Installer for PowerPC, 68K or FAT binary versions
 - Individual licences available for $US20. Site licences $US150. World
site licence $US450. Payment in $US through Kagi Shareware.
 - Registration includes free upgrades to version 5.x

Unregistered copies are fully functional except that Save and Save As are
disabled and there are
limitations and usage.

This release
 - Missing values
 - Info window to allow storage of text information about data
 - slice command to turn a continuous column into an integer
 - sorting of data
 - multiple data windows
 - copy and paste in data sheet is to/from a resource rather than text so
that accuracy is maintaned
 - slight improvement to Test command to allow models with Offset
 - Matrix graphs now allow Jitter and Lowess (good for showing off G3
powermacs)
 - Open command now allows openning of both GLMStat and Text files and
automatically determines if text files have a column heading line or not
 - in scatter plots if points overlap then no attempt to draw in gray

Subject: [*] MacCRO PPC - an oscilloscope

MacCRO is a simple, easy-to-use audio frequency oscilloscope and spectrum
analyser for the Macintosh. It suffers from the limitations of the
Macintosh's sound input port - it works at audio frequencies only - but it
has a major advantage over a "real" oscilloscope: low cost. While a
typical, cheap 20MHz scope may cost a few hundred dollars, MacCRO is only
$20 shareware, or $10 for students and schools.

System Requirements
    * A PowerPC
    * About 2MB of free RAM
    * About 1MB of free hard disk space
    * QuickTime. If you don't have it, you can get it from
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/.
    * Navigation Services and the Appearance Manager will be used, if they
are available (Mac OS 8 is required for proper support of Kaleidoscope
schemes).
