"Yoohoo! Email Replacement Sound"

If you have an email program, you've likely fallen victim to a boring
email sound at one time or another! That can be overcome, however, with
a new email replacement sound. The "Yoohoo" email sound is a great sound
to use to announce the arrival of new mail. It is a cute female voice
that playfully says "Yoohoo!" to let you know a new message has arrived.

The sound can easily be used with later versions of Claris Emailer,
Eudora Pro, and others that allow the assignment of sound files as mail
notifiers. Other programs that don't have the option of assigning sounds
can still utilize this sound with the help of "Agent Audio," available
for download at www.clixsounds.com.

The "Yoohoo" Email Sound is available in both stereo and mono versions
and can be downloaded here or at the Clixsounds WWW site at:

This is the latest {June 1, 1997} version this report and should replace
the previous version of mac-ftp-list.txt.

This is a update {June 1, 1997} to Mike Gleason and Bruce Grubb's Mac FTP
list. It lists over 200 mac anonymous ftp sites (some with notes), over
75 Mac web pages, contains some instructions on how to use anonymous
ftp and find files as well a format chart showing which programs
decompress and decode which files and a section on how to use certain
decoded files. This archive contains both the text and html versions.

Please note that the html part is actually four crosslinked files:
mac-ftp-list.html, ftp-list.html, www-section.html, and site-notes.html
that require HTML Browser such as Lynx, Mosaic or NetScape to view.

Must be in a monospaced font so that the columns line up
correctly; Courier 10pt is recommended, though Monaco 9pt or a PC
equivalent can be used instead. Needs StuffIt Expander or equivalent
{unsitins.exe} to decompress.

Please send newly discovered macintosh sites (with IP numbers and
directories to check if possible), bug fixes, and comments to:

Here is a little control strip module we wrote to allow the selection of
any video resolution possible to any monitor connected to a PCI
PowerMacintosh.

Title: "Multi-resolutions 1.2"
Requirements: MacOS 7.5 or above, PCI PowerMacintosh (NuBus not
supported).
Type: freeware
Description: Multi-resolutions is a control strip module that allows you
to check and change the resolution of any PCI Macintosh video card on the
fly. Because it doesn't check the type of monitor connected, you may
select any possible resolution even if you are using a non-Apple
compatible monitor.
It may also be very useful if you want to "override" the limitations of
your monitor and test different resolutions on your monitor.
Multi-resolutions is also very helpful on PCI configurations where
multiple AppleVision monitors are connected to the ADB bus and are
causing interference to each other.

been checked with Disinfectant 3.6.

Synk 2.2.2
==========

Synk is a backup/synchronization program that can resolve aliases and
archive old files. It runs on all Macintoshes except Mac Plus, Classic and
PowerBook 100.

You can backup a folder full of aliases, making it simple to modify your
backup or synchronization strategy by dropping file or folder aliases into
the defined folder.

It is just as easy to distribute synchronized files throughout a
PowerBook's hard drive by synchronizing two folders containing aliases.

Any number of file types, creators and file endings may be skipped.

Obsolete files and folders can be archived into a folder.

Other features include:
-----------------------
- complete log of actions (now unlimited in length)
- obsolete files can be deleted, trashed or archived
- collisions are conveniently placed in a folder on the Desktop

Synk 2 is $10 US shareware. Upgrades from previous version of Synk are free
to registered users.

This archive contains Ambrose Bierce's "The Devil's Dictionary" in setext
format.

The text is in 8-bit Mac encoding.

Setext is a slightly enhanced text format. It can be read with any text
editor/word processor, but looks best when viewed with a setext-compatible
browser, such as Akif Eyler's EasyView <info-mac/text/easy-view-262.hqx>.

If you have already installed EasyView just double-click on the "The Devil's
Dictionary.view" file (you may need to rebuild your desktop first).

This archive is free for non-commercial uses and may be included on CD-ROMs. The
original electronic text is from the Internet Wiretap. If you consider that the
time spent in converting it to setext is worth some recognition, make a donation
to your favourite charity.
