Canadian English Keyboard Layout

Apple has long neglected English-speaking Canadians. Every since the first
Macintosh, Canadians have been stuck using the US keyboard layout. Many
have had to endure the sight of an American flag on their menu bar. But
these problems cease once one has installed the Canadian English Keyboard
layout. The keys are arranged the same as the US layout, but the layout is
called Canadian English and its flag is the Canadian flag.

Subject: [*] Chronocalculator 1.0

Chronocalculator is a calculator for adding and subtracting clock time.
Clock time is added and subtracted in terms of hours, minutes, and seconds,
so there is no need to convert times to a decimal number first. If you've
ever needed to add or subtract clock time, such as when recording songs on
CD's or tapes, this small application can help out!

System requirements:
* Minimum of System 7

Subject: [*] Church Membership Keeper 4.0

Church Membership Keeper is a church management database. This new version
has been greatly enhanced

New features include:

* Church Membership Keeper is now a stand alone program.
* The ability to store and recover the data of "old records" from CMK's
main file. This allows the main file to remain uncluttered by records that
may be outdated while being able to recover the data should it be needed
later.
* Users may now create two distinct Family ID# so that they can create more
than one relationship between files.
* Users may now Option click many of CMK's buttons and fields in the main
file for quick help about that item.
* A new Favorite support database for tracking favorite Scripture passages,
hymns/songs, confirmation verse, and funeral service planning information.
* Find Birthdays for a given month and output them to a text file.
* Find Anniversaries for a given month and output them to a text file.
* Users may now print Letters, Post Cards, Labels, & Envelopes that are
personal or addressed to a household (e.g. The Smith Household).
* The Children and Youth support databases have been combined.
* Cleaner & less cluttered appearance
* The usual assorted bug fixes ( and probably the addition of new ones).

Note:
1) This is the Japanese version. An english version was posted as
"data-rescue-211.sit"
2) 68K version - a FAT version is also posted.

Data Rescue is a tool for recovering lost Macintosh volumes. It recovers files
and folders from crashed hard disks, floppy disks, or removable cartridges.
Recovered data are saved to another medium, leaving the original disk untouched.
The main interest in Data Rescue is that the strategy for finding lost files is
original, different from the strategies used by other tools like 'Norton
Utilities'. Not only will it find your data in situations where the other tools
fail, but it will recover them in a much better condition, restoring icons,
dates
and even folder hierarchy. The shareware fee for Data Rescue is $39. Until you
register your copy with a personnal code, you can only recover 1 file per
session. This allows you to test Data Rescue and check that it helps you in your
particular situation. Works on all Macs, needs System 7 or better. Compatible
with MacOS 8.5 and HFS+. Can be distributed freely for non-profit purposes
in the
form of this archive. Documentation included, updates at

Subject: [*] Disk Recall 1.0

Disk Recall (formerly FloppyCatalog) is a super-fast disk cataloging
utility. It creates catalogs of any type of disk (floppies, hard drives,
CD-ROMs, Zips, Sy-Quests, AppleShare volumes, etc...). It features an
intuitive Finder-like list view for browsing disk contents, and a powerful
multi-criteria search engine modeled after Apple's Find File utility of
System 8. Disk Recall uses a super-fast archiving algorithm to scan disks
5 to 10 times faster than other Macintosh catalogers. Disk Recall also lets
you search for duplicate files, delete files or folders, scan inside
Stuffit files, open and reveal items in the Finder and more. With the
accompanying DropLog application, you can easily keep your catalogs up to
date by simply dropping them on DropLog when you want to eject them.
Registered users also get the QuickLog extension which automatically scans
any disk at eject time. Unlike other -slower- catalogers, users barely
notice any delay when ejecting disks.

File Utility FM is a FileMaker Pro 4 document for cataloging and managing

Subject: [*] HotlineHelper 1.6.4

HotlineHelper is a shareware application that adds several new cool
features to Hotline Server (68k or PPC) by Hotline Software, Inc or any
other file transfer server software. These features enable remote users
to:

-search files on your server by name or finder comment
-quickly find the most recent uploads
-download a text index file of your server.

Furthermore HotlineHelpers does these things automatically:
-erase/clean comments of your files
-empty the trash.

HotlineHelper does not communicate with Hotline Server. It's therefore
possible to use it with file transfer software different from Hotline
(like Stairways Software NetPresenz FTP Server). However, HotlineHelper
has been designed with Hotline Server in mind. Some features might seem
useless or will not work at all if you use another file transfer server.

New in version 1.6.4
- checkbox for disabling auto-activation of HotlineServer

New in version 1.6.3
- if opened, Hotline Server is made the front process after 5 mins of
inactivty so it gets more processing power
- HotlineHelper 1.6.3 takes much less CPU time, especially when in
background
- support for online registration
Bug fixes
- Recent uploads will not longer create aliases of files with bad
modicifaction dates (e.g. 10.10.2011)

Subject: [*] InternetHelper1.0

 * Internet Helper is a useful application that is basically a suite of
internet tools. It has the basic port scans, service scans, and
fingers. But Internet Helper also has many more advanced features such
as a finger file-on-demand system for distributing text files and an
advanced client/server pair to test programs or interface with other
systems. This program is made as a helper to anyone who does internet
programming or to anyone who sometimes needs to work with the 'net.

System:
* You will need a PPC or 68K Macintosh with atleast 5 megs of ram and an
internet connection of some kind.

Features
 * Client/Server pair:
Internet Helper has a client/server pair so that you may test
internet applications, play with protocols, connect to wingates and SMTP
servers and more. The client/server setup also is very useful for
internet chatting.

 * Service Scan:
This feature lets you scan for various open ports on a server or
internet-connected computer.

 * Port Scan:
This feature lets you scan for a certain port number among many IP
addresses.

 * Finger and Finger File-On-Demand:
This useful new feature lets you turn your computer into a file
server. Users anywhere in the world can finger your computer with a
keyword to receive files and information. As far as I know, this is the
first Mac finger file server anywhere.

Subject: [*] mt-everything-150a3.sit

Mt. Everything is a control panel allowing you to manage your SCSI
devices and mount Macintosh volumes from any SCSI disk. Additionally
it lets you gather information about all partitions located on a given
SCSI drive and lets you inspect the content of a drive without
having to mount a volume from it.

Mt. Everything 1.5 adds full support for mutliple SCSI buses, including
SCSI buses added by third party expansion cards to your computer. It supports
Wide SCSI buses.

Mt. Everything includes a built-in generic SCSI disk driver supporting
virtuall any SCSI hard-drive.

Mt. Everything 1.5.0a3 still is an alpha version. It represents work in
progress
and is neither feature complete nor carefully tested.

Whats new in 1.5.0a3?

* Experimental support for mounting volumes which are set-up not to
"Auto-Mount" in their
setup-program. This new feature currently works only for drives which have
been prepared
with Apple's "Drive Setup" program.

* Experimental support for SCSI-2 compliant optical storage devices like MO
drives added.
Mt. Everything will treat them the same as a normal hard disk and should be
able
to mount volumes from such drives if the drive (or better its medium) has
been prepared
to be used by Mac OS computers.

* Mt. Everything now should mount PowerBooks 1400 running in disk mode
like it does with other PowerBook models.

* The "Info" dialog now displays the allocation blocksize of HFS and HFS+
volumes. The
allocation blocksize is the smallest amount of disk space any file will occupy.

* Little endian Linux ext2 file systems are recognized correctly and "Info"
shows the same
information than for big endian ext2 file systems. Additionally the
"endianess" of the choosen
file system is shown.

* A number of bug fixes (see the enclosed Readme document)

Subject: [*] MTM_PPCinstaller.hqx (abstract)

This is the PPC installer for Meta Tag Manager version 1.0.3 from YAV
Interactive Media (http://www.yav.com), the first and only software of its
kind for the Macintosh. Meta Tag Manager ($30) is the ultimate tool for
fine-tuning and optimizing a document's meta tags. This process can enhance
a page's search engine relevancy ranking and assure that queries that
should find a particular page, do in fact find that page. Anyone creating
webpages should be using Meta Tag Manager.

Meta tags are usually not visible in a browser but are used by search
engine "spiders" to index and rank a website or homepage. Every search
engine has its own approach to handling on-line documents and even their
utilization of meta tags varies widely. Rather than leave the fate of a
meticulously crafted web presence to a spider's often overly generalized
methods, Meta Tag Manager lets the individual take control. By providing
dozens of options to automate the management of meta tags, Meta Tag Manager
makes it easy to analyze and maximize the important meta tags of an entire
website or a single html document.

Meta Tag Manager provides ongoing feedback about how a document's meta tags
will be treated by up to ten search engines (including the top seven). Meta
Tag Manager generates custom advice in easy-to-understand English. One
click of the "Update" button can add ten meta tags auto-formatted in
optimum syntax to a document. And Meta Tag Manager can conditionally add,
append, prepend, or merge tags to a whole group of files with a single
press of the "Batch" button. Collect all keywords from a website. Analyze
the interaction between keywords, headings, and body text. Designate often
used material to be added automatically to important tags. "Carry over"
tags from one file to another. Strip unwanted meta tags. Create "Tag
Reports" and much more.

Subject: [*] NewsTicker 1.5

NewsTicker - Experience Live News On Your Mac!

What does NewsTicker do?
NewsTicker is a utility for displaying the headlines from different web
sites. It puts up a floating window where the headlines scroll by.
Double-clicking a headline will open your browser to show the full story.

It can also track web pages, showing when they have changed.

NewsTicker uses a built-in parsing engine, which describes the format of
web pages, and "teaches" NewsTicker which parts of the incoming HTML page
are the headlines.

Since the format of web pages may change, NewsTicker sometimes displays
more information than you might want (or even less than what you expect),
but it's still much better than having to launch your browser every time
you want the news headlines...

Currently, the limit is 32 Tracked Web Sites, and a total of no more than
100 headlines.

Using NewsTicker
The first time you run NewsTicker, you will be presented with the
Preferences dialog (which you can later access from the Edit menu, or by
holding down the Control key while clicking on the Ticker window).

The Preferences dialog has three panels, which control different aspects
of NewsTicker:
1. Miscellaneous
2. Tracked Web Sites
3. Ticker Appearance
Move the cursor over an item in the Preferences dialog to get an
explanation for that item.

If your network uses an HTTP Proxy Server, be sure to configure the HTTP
Proxy section of the Miscellaneous panel.

Requirements
* Mac OS 7.5.1 or better.
* Open Transport 1.1 or better.

Use NewsTicker for no longer than 14 days, then please register it or
trash it.

SkipPrint is a control panel which enables double-sided printing.
It helps you save paper and save trees. This would be a small but
positive ecological step in the right direction. If your printer does
not have such a function, install this control panel and try it.

You can print the odd-numbered pages first by using this control
panel. Then you turn all printed pages over and set them to a printer
again for yourself. You can print the even-numbered pages second.
It is only two times that you choose "Print..." from File menu.
Consequently you can get paper which have odd-numbered pages on one
side and even-numbered pages on another.

Two times printing with skipping every other page makes double-sided
printing. The name of SkipPrint is derived from it.

New in this version:
Canon printer combined with particular Pixela printer driver no
longer draws skipped pages directly on the monitor screen.

SkipPrint is shareware. It works on System 7 or later.

Subject: [*] Sleeper 3.1 - Sleep utility for all Macs

This is a submission of Sleeper 3.1, the popular "Energy Saver for
the rest of us." This update should replace the English version of
Sleeper 3.0.2 already in the archives.

Sleeper is a shareware control panel that provides Macintosh users
with a host of energy-saving features that work on the entire
Macintosh line, from the Mac Plus to the latest G3 PowerMacs, and
allows greater control than Apple's Energy Saver control panel.
Sleeper dims the screen, powers down Energy Star compliant monitors,
and spins down disk drives after periods of inactivity. This saves
energy and reduces noise without forcing you to shut down your Mac.
Sleeper can also password-protect the screen and shut down your Mac
if it has been idle for too long.

Sleeper does not rely on Apple's Power Manager, so Sleeper will work
on any Macintosh running System 7.0 or later, and does not suffer
from some of the quirky behavior reported with Apple's Energy Saver.
Sleeper is fully compatible with Mac OS 8.5.1, and will spin down
both IDE and SCSI hard drives. The screen saver feature requires a
color-capable Macintosh, and Energy Star monitor support requires an
Energy Star compliant Macintosh (any Mac on which Apple's Energy
Saver control panel works) and an Energy Star capable monitor.
Sleeper supports SCSI Manager 4.3 in native mode on all machines and
requires very little memory when operating.

In addition to the Info-Mac archives, information and updates are
available at the following web site:

         <http://www.stclairsoft.com/>

Sleeper may be included on the Info-Mac and UMich CD-ROMs.

Sleeper 3.1 includes the following enhancements and changes:
------------------------------------------------------------

- New features:
  * On machines that support CPU sleep, such as PowerBooks and G3 PowerMacs,
Sleeper can now put the CPU to sleep.
  * Password protection can now be automatically activated at startup.
  * Sleeper can blank the screen completely when it is password protected,
even when the screen saver brightess is not 0%.
  * The screen saver now turns off the backlight on PowerBooks when Sleeper's
brightness setting is less than 5%.
  * Energy Star shutdown can now proceed even if disk access is still
    occurring.
  * A buzzer now sounds after 3 failed attempts to enter a password.
  * If the caps lock key is down, Sleeper indicates this if an incorrect

Subject: [*] Stereo 3D

Stereo 3D is the original professional-quality stereogram maker for MacOS.
It allows anyone to create high-quality random-dot stereograms, as seen in
many books including the Magic Eye=81 series. It is quick, fast, and simple=
,
and works on virtually any color Macintosh. Stereo 3D creates 3D images
from a grayscale PICT, created in any paint or image-editing program, and
takes only seconds to finish an image on most computers. And the new
rendering engine in version 2.1 incorporates features that make images
created with Stereo 3D rival those found in any Magic Eye=81 book!

=46eatures

* Creates 3D images in full 32-bit color.
* Up to 256 levels of depth allows for perfectly smooth 3D images.
* 3D image resolution can be set with the click of a button. Resolution
ranges from 72 dpi for screen display to 1200 x 1200 or greater for output
to high quality printers.
* Runs on any color Mac or PowerMac with at least 8 Megabytes of RAM and
System 7 or higher.
* Images can be saved as PICTs, printed from within the application, or
copied to the clipboard.

Stereo 3D is shareware. Included in this download is the unregistered
version of Stereo 3D (note that this demo is version 2.0 and some new
features are not shown). All normal menu items, including Save, Print, and
all clipboard operations are fully functional. The only difference in the
demo is that there is a limited choice of depth pictures to create 3D
images from. After paying the shareware fee of $10.00, you will receive
the registered version of Stereo 3D version 2.1 with all features enabled.

Subject: [*] Trilite 3.0

Trilite - is a shareware game similiar to tic-tac-toe, but much more fun and
challenging. The object is to get three adjacent squares set to your color.
These squares may be horizontal, vertical, or diagonal. On your turn, click on
any empty square to fill it with your color. Sound simple enough? Well, here's
the trick: you may only have three squares occupied at a time. Once you
click on
a fourth square, the first one you selected becomes empty again, allowing your
opponent to make a surprise move. You may play against another person or a
computer player (with two levels of difficulty). System Requirements - Mac
OS 7.0
or Higher. Color Monitor 1024K RAM.
