The idea was to change the usual panel technique to a more directed interview process. Our aim was to obtain a more lively, incisive and structured text. Thus, we started from the tape and the authors have care fully reviewed the text without changing its meaning. About the substance, the question is that of the relationship between artificial intelligence and decision support. Unexpected ly, the discussion very quickly moved to the consideration of the place of the subject and of subjectiveness in AI. In effect, the preferences of a subject and his anticipations (possibly proba bilities) are at the core of the reflexion in the decision field. Similarly, AI is undoubtedly the part of computer science the most concerned with subjects. Thus, it is very likely that many links exist between the two domains. Finally, the thinking about the role of a subject and his modes of reasoning resulted in a debate about optimization and interactivity.
